COTABATO CITY — The Ministry of Science and Technology’s STS Division – Technology Transfer Section convened a crucial stakeholders’ meeting at Cren Cuisine Resto on July 22, 2024, to assess the progress of Mainland Province Beneficiaries’ applications for FDA License to Operate (LTO). The session was part of the ongoing Technology Transfer and Commercialization Program (TTCP) aimed at bolstering local enterprises and fostering economic growth in the Bangsamoro region.

Representatives from various entities including the STS Division and PSTC Maguindanao gathered to discuss updates and provide essential feedback on FDA application techniques. Among the officials present were Ms. Monawara Abdulbadie, Chief SRS of STSD, and Engr. Ebrahim Bango, Sr. SRS from PSTC Maguindanao, along with several administrative assistants and project managers.

The beneficiaries from Maguindanao, Cotabato City, and Lanao Del Sur showcased their dedication to product quality and market readiness. Maguindanao’s beneficiaries included Sigay nu mga Babay Assoc. specializing in banana chips and Mirmen’s Noodle Factory renowned for pancit production. Meanwhile, Cotabato City was represented by Yams Premium Ice Candy and Nurhamza Food Products featuring iced candy and peanut butter, respectively. Lanao Del Sur’s beneficiaries, such as Marhaba Cooperative producing turmeric powder and JSM with their coffee line, demonstrated their commitment to quality local products.

The stakeholders’ meeting emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to facilitating technology transfer and enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region. By addressing challenges and providing technical support, the TTCP aims to expedite the issuance of FDA-LTOs, thereby enabling these enterprises to meet stringent market requirements and expand their market reach.
