The Ministry of Science and Technology – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOST-BARMM) conducted a two-day awareness training attended by MOST employees last January 7-8, 2020, at PAGANA Kutawato, Cotabato City.
The said training aims to understand and review the concept and requirements of ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System, adopt and apply the standards of the QMS and implement and sustain a culture of quality for organizational effectiveness.
Nasrodin Buisan, MOST’s Chief of Technical Management Division, comprehensively led the discussion as the resource person for the two-day training.
“To be really efficient and effective, the organization can manage its way of doing things by systemizing it,” Buisan said.
He also pointed out the next actions:
• Developing an integrated policy for the ministry
• Identifying internal gaps
• Creating documentation of processes
• Process implementation across the organization
• Organizing a management review system
• Preparing the organization for the final certification audit and recommendation for certification
Minister Aida Silongan said that the ministry would progressively adopt this quality management system.
The ISO 9001:2015 is an international standard that specifies a quality management system’s requirements, the most prominent approach to QMS. Implementing the said system helps the organization organize processes, improve operations’ efficiency, and continually improve.
