Bangsamoro, Philippines – The Ministry of Science and Technology actively participated in the ongoing region-wide Bangsamoro Governance Pre-Summit activities held in different provinces. BARMM Officials, Local Government Units, and Ministries’ Provincial Directors also joined the event, presenting mainly the 2022 Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs). Each ministry presented the proposed PPAs to LGU while the latter also presented their programs for funding by the Regional Government through its ministries.
The Pre-Summit is a preparation for the upcoming Bangsamoro Governance Summit to be held on July 23 in Cotabato City. It aims to strengthen the Bangsamoro Government’s regulatory authority, align PPAs to its constituent LGUs, and create a shared vision and direction complementing programs and resources. It will also enable strong unity and cooperation among sectors of the BARMM government and perform sustainable development in the region.
Minister Aida Silongan attended the Pre-Summit in 63 Barangays of North Cotabato’s Special Geographic Area to present PPAs today, July 15, 2021. Also, Engr. Jandatu Salik, MOST’s Provincial Director of Maguindanao, presented the programs and projects of the ministry during the LGU Pre-Summit held in General Santos City yesterday, July 14-15, 2021, Maguindanao province converge. Other provincial directors of the ministry will present PPAs in other BARMM provinces scheduled before the BG Summit.
A workshop was also slated to identify and prioritize PPAs per sectoral concern to discuss and address the needs and challenges among communities by helping them reach their full potential in delivering effective services in the region.
