BGC, Cotabato City – The International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS), led by its Chairman Dr. Maszlee Bin Malik, paid a courtesy visit to Minister Engr. Aida M. Silongan, MAPDS, of the Ministry of Science and Technology at the MOST Regional Office, Bangsamoro Government Center, in this city.

IAIS personnel present at the meeting included Mr. Mohd Faiz Bin Nawi, Mr. Javerd Nizar, and Mr. Harris Amugan of Samporna Trading Corporation. Also in attendance were MP Marjanie Macasalong, BYC Chairperson, and his staff; Datu Jihad C. Abbas, Vice President for Corporate Affairs at Bangsamoro Federal Business Council Incorporated; and MOST officials, namely Bangsamoro Director-General Engr. Abdulrakman K. Asim, Planning Officer V Engr. Abdulwahid Sendad, Executive Assistant III Prof. Hashim Manticayan, and other personnel.

Held on July 10, 2024, the coordination meeting aimed to conduct benchmarking, foster collaboration, and create joint initiatives for both parties and the Bangsamoro Government.

IAIS Chairman Dr. Malik, also a former Education Minister in Malaysia, shared IAIS’s endeavors and shared possible initiatives to enhance the ministry’s efforts. Minister Silongan expressed her gratitude for the team’s purpose and hopes for well-coordinated and fruitful joint efforts.

“Your expertise, assistance, and human resources are crucial for honing our capabilities for the benefit of the Bangsamoro people,” Minister Silongan stated.

The meeting discussed benchmarking activities to learn best practices and potential applications to government operations. Other topics included the integration of the Arabic curriculum at Bangsamoro Science High School, promoting the positive image of the Bangsamoro Government, exploration and technologies, and other collaborative efforts.

The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude and support for the sustainability of these efforts and initiatives for the betterment and progress of both parties.
