Taguig City, July 19, 2024 – To acquire information and explore programs for potential adoption in the Bangsamoro region, key personnel from the Ministry of Science and Technology – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOST-BARMM) visited the DOST – Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI).

The S&T personnel present at the activity included Monawara Abdulbadie, Chief Science Research Specialist; Bea Hannah Unggui-Midtimbang, Senior SRS; Engr. Hayla S. Magandia, Senior SRS; Samera Gumandel, SRS II; Mowalim Kalim, Project Technical Specialist; Almansur Mokamad, IO III; and Al-Rhasid Panasang, Administrative Officer V. They represented the Science and Technology Services, Management Information System, and Information and Communication divisions of the ministry.

Atty. Lucieden Raz, OIC Director of DOST-FNRI and her staff welcomed and provided substantial information to the BARMM delegates.

The meeting primarily discussed technologies developed for transfer and commercialization, specifically in the areas of food and nutrition. This includes food product development, fortified foods, complementary foods, vegetable-supplemented products, and other food technologies. The discussions also covered essential information for promotion.

Furthermore, this meeting is crucial as it will help assist the adoptors in BARMM to acquire food technologies and make them available in the Bangsamoro markets.

The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude for the collaboration and partnership that will improve and benefit more people, fostering economic growth and enhancing the well-being of the constituents.
