Cotabato City, BARMM – To enhance knowledge and skills in intellectual property management, the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Technology Application and Promotion Program (TAPP) Section conducted an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Training for 25 personnel and researchers from November 28 , 2024.

Held at the BICTO ICT Literacy and E-Governance Center, 2nd Floor, 8Z Building, Cotabato City, the training focused on equipping participants with practical skills in identifying, managing, and protecting intellectual property (IP), including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets.

The activity also aimed to build internal capacity at MOST for providing guidance on intellectual property issues, enabling the ministry to better support researchers, innovators, and local businesses. This initiative seeks to foster an innovation-friendly culture within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), encouraging and safeguarding locally developed technologies.

Trained personnel from MOST are now better equipped to serve as a resource hub for intellectual property matters, offering reliable guidance on patent applications, copyright protections, trademarks, and trade secrets.

MOST is committed to fostering a culture of intellectual property awareness and protection, ultimately contributing to the growth of a stronger, innovation-driven ecosystem within the region.
