To enhance the technical writing skills and knowledge of BARMM researchers, the Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Science and Technology has conducted Technical Writing Writeshop: Crafting Competitive R&D Proposals for researchers in the region from May 7 to 10, 2024 at Acacia Hotel, Davao City.

The primary objective of the activity is to equip Bangsamoro researchers with the essential knowledge, skills, and tools to write clear, concise, and impactful research proposals that meet the ministry’s standards. By enhancing their proposal writing skills, researchers are better positioned to secure funding for their projects, leading to increased research output and innovation within the BARMM region.

Deputy Minister Engr. Edsel Mohammad Jilhano, Director II Nasrudin A. Buisan, and RDI Division Chief Engr. Jandatu Salik led the opening activity, motivating participants to acquire more knowledge to achieve the activity’s objectives.

Twenty-one (21) researchers from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), institutions, academe, ministries, and offices are participating in the writeshop. They will also gain insights into the research grant application process provided by the ministry.

The MOST Research, Development, and Innovation (RDID) Division also promoted the Harmonized BARMM Research and Development Agenda (HBRDA) during the event.

The three-day intensive program includes lectures, interactive workshops, and practical exercises. Dr. Catherine Roween Almaden, President of Northern Bukidnon State College and Dr. Elsa May Delima-Baron, Director of the Research, Publication, and Innovation Center, San Pedro College Davao, both regular members of NRCP Divisions, are among the event speakers.

Through the MOST Bangsamoro Experts Engagement Project (BEEP), this capacity-building initiative aims to foster a strong research culture in the region by empowering researchers with knowledge and skills contributing to R&D initiatives and scientific innovation in BARMM.
