The Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 40, also known as the Bangsamoro Science High School (BSHS) System Act of 2023, was enacted on August 14, 2023, and took effect on September 20, 2023.

This initiative was enacted for the establishment of a quality science education system in the Bangsamoro region and for offering free scholarship programs.

Its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) have been adopted to effectively implement the said act.
