S&T Scholarships and Grants Projects:

 

1. Bangsamoro Assistance  for Science Education – is awarded to deserving student of Senior High School graduate class to enable him/her to pursue higher education or training in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

BASE Criteria:

1. Natural-born Filipino citizen, resident of BARMM at least six months and attained 85% General Average for 1st Semester marks to get qualified for it;

2. STEM strand senior high school graduating class;

3. Member of the top five percent (5%) of the Non- STEM strand senior high school graduating class;

4. Dropped out student due to financial constraint with highly specialized science and technology courses;

5. Less privileged, a deserving student who belongs to a family whose socio-economic status does not exceed the set values of specific indicators (not more than Php 250,000.00 annual family income or Php 350,000 for more than four children);

6. Parent/s most recent Income Tax Return / W2 / Employment Contract for OFW / BIR Cert. Of Exemption from Filing of ITR/Brgy. Cert. of Indigency.

7. Not a recipient of other scholarship programs

8. Good moral character and in good health;

9. Do not have any post-secondary or undergraduate units;

10. Qualifier of MOST Bangsamoro Scholarship Grant Examination

 

 

2. Bangsamoro Assistance for Science Education –MERIT  – awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and are willing to pursue careers in the fields of science and technology.

BASE-Merit Criteria:

1. Natural-born Filipino citizen and a resident of BARMM

2. Member of the STEM strand senior high school graduating class with 85% GWA during the Grade 12 1st semester;

3. For Non-STEM strand senior high school graduating class; 90% GWA during the Grade 12 1st semester;

4. Not a recipient of other scholarship programs

5. Good moral character and in good health;

6. Do not have any post-secondary or undergraduate units; and

7. Passed the BASE MERIT qualifying examination.

8. Enrolled in the BASE MERIT Priority Courses.

 

 

3. Mujahidin Assistance for Science Education – a grants program which aims to provide educational assistance to qualified children of legitimate mujahideen/mujahidat who are taking science and technology courses.

  • The funding for this program would come from the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of some of the members of the Parliament who are willing to share their resources in providing financial assistance to potential grantees of this program.

A. MASE Criteria:

1.Must be a Bangsamoro Filipino citizen;

2.Must be Enrolled to any S&T priority courses of the MOST based on CHED Memorandum No. 05, s. 2019;

3.Not recipient of any other scholarship, grant or financial subsidy from the government or private sector; and

4.Must be a legitimate child of the MILF/MNLF combatants.

 

B. Grant Requirements:

 

Applicant shall submit the following documents:

1.Fully-accomplished MASE application form

2.Certificate of Enrolment (Original)

3.Certificate of Live birth preferably PSA authenticated (Photocopy)

4.Certification from unit base with endorsement from the Front commander

5.Certificate of Indigency (Barangay)

 

 

4. Bangsamoro Special Assistance for Science Education –

The Bangsamoro Special Assistance in Science Education (BSASE) scholarship grants program is a flagship educational assistance initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) under the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act (BAA), in accordance with Republic Act No. 11054, Article IX, Section 21, which recognizes the pivotal role of science and technology in national and regional progress. The Bangsamoro Government, acknowledging the importance of science, research, inventions, and education technology, has mandated MOST to set the direction for scientific and technological development in the region, ensuring the participation of all stakeholders.

A. CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY 

  • Must be a Bangsamoro Filipino citizen;
  • Must have a grade of at least (2.50) 0r (80%) general weighted Average.
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in one of the identified MOST S&T priority courses;
  • Not recipient of any other scholarship, grant or financial subsidy from the government or private sector;
  • Of good moral character and in good health condition; and
  • Must be recommended or endorsed by the current BTA-Member of parliament.

 

B. GRANT REQUIREMENTS

Applicant shall submit the following documents:

  • Fully-accomplished BSASE application form;
  • Certificate of Enrolment or Registration (duly signed by the Registrar Office);
  • Certificate of Grades duly signed by the Registrar Office (If the applicant is currently studying);
  • Certificate of Live birth preferably PSA authenticated (Photocopy);
  • Recommendation Letter from any of the current BTA-member of parliament;
  • Certificate of Indigency (Barangay)

 

 

5. Professional Assistance for Science Education 

It is a flagship educational cash assistance program of the Ministry of Science and Technology under Bangsamoro Autonomy Act (BAA) through program component of MOST, Science Education, Scholarship, Grants and Awards. It is designed to continuously support the advancement of skills and proficiency level of the Bangsamoro professionals in the field of science & technology. Professional Assistance in Science Education is awarded to qualified Bangsamoro Professionals who will pursue Master’s program in the priority S&T field areas.

A. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP GRANT)

 An applicant must:

  1. Must be a Filipino citizen; and a permanent resident of BARMM;
  2. Not more than 50 years old at the time of application;
  3. In good health and of good moral character;
  4. Pass the admission requirements for graduate studies at any State Colleges and Universities or NSC member-universities in the Philippines;
  5. Have at least one year working experience or have graduated with academic honors or graduated as BASE/BASE-Merit grantee of the MOST;
  6. If employed:
  7. Allowed to study full-time for two or three years (Residential Mode) and part-time for six years at UPOU (Distance Education Mode); and
  8. For employed applicants:
  9. Certificate of Employment, Permit to Study (Signed Form 2B by the Head of the office);
  10. Must have at least Very Satisfactory performance rating for the last two (2) ratings.
  11. Not a recipient of other scholarship grants;
  12. Willing to accept the terms and conditions specified in the Scholarship grants Contract; and
  13. Must comply all required documents.

Who may NO longer apply?

  • PhD graduate (grantee or non-grantee) who intends to pursue another MS degree program.
  • MS graduate in a priority S&T program (grantee or non-grantee) who intends to pursue a second MS degree

B. GRANT REQUIREMENTS

Applicant shall submit any of the following documents:

  1. Accomplished Information Form (Form 1);
  2. Photocopy of Birth Certificate;
  3. If employed, Certification of Employment and Permit to Study (Form 2A or Form 2B);
  4. Medical Certificate (Form 3);
  5. Certified True Copy of Official Transcript of Records (TOR);
  6. Notice of Admission to the Master’s in Science and Technology program in the

Graduate School at any of the NCGSME member-universities and SUCs;

  1. Commitment to complete the degree.
  2. Approved Program of Study
  3. Certificate of Non-recipient of any scholarship from the school where he/she enrolled.

 

6. Bangsamoro International Graduate Study for Science and Technology (BIGAST) – is parallel efforts of the ministry to continuously support the advancement of the Bangsamoro proficiency level, scientific skills and technological innovation in the field of advanced sciences and emerging technologies. This International Science & Technology Study is awarded to qualified Bangsamoro Professionals who will pursue highly technical MS and Ph.D. degrees in science and engineering in reputable institutions abroad.

A. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (QUALIFICATIONS FOR PASE SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS)

An applicant must:

  1. Be a Filipino citizen;
  2. Not be more than 50 years old at the time of application;
  3. Be in good health condition;
  4. Pass the admission requirements for graduate studies in a foreign university with good track record;
  5. Pass the interview and other screening procedures; and
  6. Align the research interest with the areas/programs identified under the BARMM Harmonized Research and Development Agenda (BHRDA); and
  7. Have a viable re-entry plan.
  8. If employed:
  9. Allowed to study full-time for two or three years (Residential Mode) and part-time for six years at UPOU (Distance Education Mode); and
  10. For employed applicants:
  11. Certificate of Employment, Permit to Study (Signed Form 2B by the Head of the office);
  12. Must have at least Very Satisfactory performance rating for the last two (2) ratings.

 

Who may NO longer apply?

  • An applicant who has already started his/her studies abroad prior to application can no longer apply.

 

B. SELECTION PROCEDURE

An applicant goes through the following selection procedure:

First Level Screening:

Documentary evaluation of the application form and other requirements

Second Level Screening:

Evaluation of research topic and re-entry plan by concerned MOST-RTEC Members

Third Level Screening (as needed)

Interview by a panel to be created by the SESGA with representatives coming from the RTEC and other relevant MOST agencies.

 

C. SCHOLARSHIPS GRANTS PRIVILEGES

  1. School Fees – Actual tuition and other school fees based on Statement of Account or Official Receipt.
  2. Learning Materials and/or Connectivity Allowance – For prescribed textbooks and essential school supplies to be released as outright grant.
  3. Thesis/Dissertation Allowance
  4. Transportation Allowance – Restricted international one round trip economy fare (start and end of the scholarship period only).
  5. Pre- Departure Expenses (one time only)
  6. Monthly Stipend/Living Allowance
  7. Health/Accident Insurance
