In a significant step towards the improvement of micro, small, and medium enterprises, five (5) cooperatives in Cotabato City underwent evaluation of their current good manufacturing practices. From March 19 to 20, 2024, the Bangsamoro Science and Technology Ministry visited the five MSMEs in the area to conduct the assessment process.

These are the MSMEs that have undergone CGMP: Yam’s Food Products engaged in ice candy making, Little Home Baker engaged in doughnut making, TMA Food Enterprise engaged in pita bread making, Biniruan Pansit Producers Cooperative engaged in pansit making, and Nurhamza Food Products engaged in peanut butter making.

The assessment conducted is crucial to determine the cooperatives’ preparedness for FDA-LTO application and to assist them with their application. Also, MOST has offered Technical Assistance and Consultancy Services – Compliance with GMP, which involves regulatory standard assessment, documentation review, physical inspection, hygiene practices, sanitation procedures, quality control, employee training, and other evaluation activities for food production assessment. This effort is crucial for MSMEs’ improvement to ensure the safety and quality of food products.
