To promote and instill good moral values among micro, small, and medium enterprises, the Cotabato Science and Technology Center (CSTC) enhanced the values and principles of three (3) cooperatives through Values Transformation Training from March 6 to 8, 2024.

Held at Alnor Hotel and Convention Center in Cotabato City, the instillation of moral values among MSMEs is a crucial undertaking for the pre-implementation of the MOST Technology Transfer and Commercialization Program (TTCP), which aims to foster positive changes in the operation and services of MSMEs, uphold moral values among them, and strengthen professional growth.

The cooperatives that benefited from the training were The Little Home Baker, engaged in donut making; L.S.Y Icing Candies & Cakes, and Cotabato Brassware Association.

During the activity, Monawara Abdulbadie, Chief Science Research Specialist – Science and Technology Services Division, emphasized the importance of providing VTT and technology intervention for cooperatives.

“Patuloy ang aming pag-abot ng mga serbisyong makakatulong sa mga cooperatives sa BARMM. Bininigyan natin ng oportunidad na umangat ang kabuhayan ng mga Bangsamoro, mapa-muslim man, kristiyano o indigenous people. Sa pamamagitan din ng training na ito, makakapagdulot ito ng positibong epekto sa ating mga sarili lalong lalo na sa ating organisasyon,” Chief Abdulbadie highlighted.

[We continue to provide services that help cooperatives in BARMM. We have given the opportunity to raise the livelihood of the Bangsamoro people, whether Muslim, Christian, or indigenous people. Through this training, it will have a positive effect on ourselves, especially on our organization.]

Meanwhile, Jen Villegas, one of the participants and a member of The Little Home Baker, expressed gratitude and delivered a message during the event, “Sa pagtutulungan at pagsasama-sama, naniniwala kami na magkakaroon tayo ng mas matibay na pundasyon para sa tagumpay at pag-unlad ng ating kooperatiba, organisasyon, at ng ating mga komunidad. Patuloy sana tayong magtulungan at magtanggol sa mga halagang ating pinahahalagahan para sa kabutihan ng lahat. Maraming salamat po sa inyong pakikiisa at suporta. Mabuhay ang ating samahan!”

[By working together and collaborating, we believe that we will have a stronger foundation for the success and development of our cooperative, organization, and our communities. May we continue to work together and defend the values we cherish for the good of all. Thank you very much for your cooperation and support. Long live our association!]

VTT is a regular training program under TTCP as part of its implementation program. It is provided for MSMEs to instill moral values for their betterment and operational success. It aims to promote a positive mindset, ethical decision-making, and responsible behavior in personal and professional aspects of life.

The activity was spearheaded by CSTC, led by Norhaya Sumaluyan, RN, Senior Science Research Specialist, Andrew Aron, RN, Science SRS II, and other CSTC personnel.
