In line with the call for application of the Ministry of Science and Technology on the establishment of technology hub centers in the Bangsamoro provinces, the Mindanao State University-Maguindanao has responded and proposed a feasibility study about it.
On August 31, 2022, MSU Maguindanao Chancellor Bai Hejira Nefertiti Limbona, Project Leader Research Team Dr. Raquel Santiago-Arenas, and other colleagues paid a courtesy visit to Minister Aida Silongan at the MOST Regional Office to present their proposal entitled “Technical Study for the Establishment of Technology Hub Center in Maguindanao”.
The presented proposal was approved by the Technohub Committee and is due for the finalization of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for signing.
The BARMM Techno-hub will showcase the economically-important products in different provinces as an effort to boost production capacity and value-adding of local products. In this way, it will accelerate innovation, streamline processes, support nature-positivity, and biodiverse agriculture, and build sustainable supply chains, and safe foods and products to contribute to regional economic growth and sustainable communities.
MSU-Maguindanao has conducted numerous trainings and studies relevant or related to the objectives of the activities considered in the technical study. The collaboration with MOST and MSU-Maguindanao can create regional and national best practices and state-of-the-art technology and innovation interventions in the region.
