LANAO DEL SUR – Three (3) identified cooperatives under the Science and Technology Livelihood Assistance Program (STLAP) of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) received about Php2, 200,000.00 worth of food processing equipment on October 13-14, 2021. Coops were recipients from Malabang and Madamba.
Under STLAP, the program aims to support cooperatives in the community by upgrading their production lines, train them on Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Halal Awareness, and provide them with processing equipment. It is to get high profit and uplift the lives of cooperative members.
The three (3) cooperatives who were beneficiaries under STLAP are Malabang Women Vendors Producer Cooperative, Etihad Ranao Ragat 1 Woman Vendors Marketing Cooperative, and Noble Action for Social Reform. They were engaged in fish processing and palapa/sakurab making.
MOST Deputy Minister Said Shiek led the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and turn over of the processing equipment to identified cooperatives.
He emphasized the struggles of the Bangsamoro people. As a result, we achieved a government that instills moral governance by continually providing help and assistance for the welfare of the people.
“The long-time struggles of the Bangsamoro people have resulted to governance that instills moral bureaucracy. By this, the BARMM government is creating more initiatives and continually providing great help by implementing more programs and projects for the welfare of the Bangsamoro people.” Deputy Minister Sheik said during the turn-over of processing equipment activity.
The inspection team led by Badria Lidasan, Chief of Staff, and Pisingayo Batugan, Commission on Audit Inspector, also conducted scrutiny and checked the items ensuring that the specifications set for every item were met and delivered safely.
Additionally, the MOST Planning Team conducted an on-site visit to the cooperative’s production area to check and assess the current status of the latter and develop a plan on assisting coops in upgrading their production area.
