Cotabato City, BARMM – The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Science and Technology will conduct this year’s Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW). On December 1-2, 2022, the event will take place at Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, Bangsamoro Government Center, in this City.

Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, DOST Secretary Dr. Renato Solidum, Jr., DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations Engr. Sancho Maborrang, MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal, and other key officials will grace the event.

This year’s theme bears “Agham at Teknolohiya: Kabalikat sa Maunlad at Matatag na Kinabukasan” MOST-BARMM will host various activities to highlight and showcase MOST initiatives and programs to the public. It also aims to promote science and technology endeavors to support the region’s economic growth.

The two-day activity will foster webinars, quiz bees, recognition of the success of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and much more.

MOST will host different webinars helping people, especially those engaged in food manufacturing, adhere to food safety, current good manufacturing practices, halal compliance, patent application, innovation, and others.

The techno-talk webinars are:

  1. Intro to Halal Certification
  2. Patent Application for Innovators and Inventors
  3. Talk on Innovation
  4. Turbo Rice Steamer (Utility Model)

The MOST Science Education, Scholarships, and Grants will conduct a science quiz bee in the afternoon and award in the second-day activity.

Also, one of the highlights of the second day is the oath-taking of MOST newly hired employees for 2022.

MOST also seeks to make science, technology, and innovation closer to Bangsamoros. It is also to address issues and concerns when it comes to S & T matters.

The NSTW is an annual celebration highlighting the significant contributions of science and technology to national development and has become a platform for heralding S&T advocacy in the country.
