Cotabato City, BARMM — The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Science and Technology joined the first Bangsamoro Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Summit 2022 at Cotabato State University on June 29-30, 2022.

It is in view of the culmination of the 2022 National ICT Month Celebration with the theme “Spark, strengthen, and sustain. Advancing the Bangsamoro Digital Agenda.”

Ministries, academe, and other sectors joined the activity led by the Bangsamoro Information and Communication Technology Office (BICTO).

The two-day activity showcased technologies and innovations that significantly provide ICT interventions in the Bangsamoro region.

In a message of support, Minister Aida Silongan, MAPD, said that these undertakings would strengthen the support, partnership, and collaborations in the information and communication technology field to provide the needs of people in the field of advancement.

“The Ministry of Science and Technology promulgates its support and commitment to all the programs, projects, and activities of the regional government and other ministries and bureaus that are mandated to strengthen the ICT programs, projects, infrastructures, and policies.” Minister Silongan said.

In her speech, she also introduced the devices and equipment showcased in the MOST booth currently used by people in BARMM.

“I invite you all to our booth as we showcase our technologically advanced machines and equipment. We have the RxBox, STARBOOKS, different types of Early Warning Devices, and others. The community is currently utilizing those devices to serve people.” Minister added.

Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, MOTC Minister Dickson Hermoso, DICT Region 12 & Mainland BARMM Alimbzar Asum, and BICTO Executive Director Jonathan Mantikayan gave a message of support during the program activity.
