Tawi-Tawi, BARMM — Minister Aida Silongan coordinated with Municipal Administrator Kadirie Sahali to expedite the Food and Nutrition Research Institute’s Complementary Feeding Facilities in Panglima Sugala on June 16, 2022.

In a statement, Minister Silongan desired to hasten the technology intervention for operationalizing the Complementary Feeding Facilities in Tawi-Tawi to benefit malnourished children.

“Ma-operationalize na natin etong complementary feeding facilities dito sa Panglima Sugala, upang maka-produce tayo ng rice mongo made with rice fortified with iron, mongo, and sesame, para matulungan ang mga malnourished children.” Minister said.

[Let’s expedite the operationalization of complementary feeding facilities here in Panglima Sugala so that we can produce rice mongo made with rice fortified with iron, mongo, and sesame, so our malnourished children would benefit.]

Municipal Administrator Sahali seeks the assistance of MOST to expedite the operationalization of complementary feeding facilities and address other concerns.

“Mapabilis sana natin ang pag ooperationalize netong Complementary Feeding Facilities, we will discuss this with our Mayor to hasten the operationalization of it as soon as possible with the help of the Ministry of Science and Technology.”

Provincial Science and Technology Center – Director Shirmal Mudjajiron added that once the complementary feeding facilities in the area would function immediately, training and other assistance from DOST-FNRI would begin to benefit the human resources of the said facilities. In addition, it would produce the goal of providing complementary food for malnourished children.

Also, Deputy Minister Dan Salah Asnawi, Bangsamoro Director-General Abdulrakman Asim, and Chief of Staff Badria Lidasan were also present during the coordination meeting.

Furthermore, Minister Silongan also discussed with the cooperatives present in the Panglima Sugala Complementary Feeding Facilities the S & T intervention that the ministry would provide for cooperatives/enterprises in the province.

“Tutulungan namin ang inyong cooperative (PS Enterprises) na maimprove ang pagprocess ng inyong raw materials from manual to electronic processing to produce more seaweed chips”. Minister said to PS Enterprises.

[We will help your cooperative (PS Enterprises) with the improvement of your raw materials processing from manual to electronic processing to produce more seaweed chips.]

She also advised the cooperative to submit the required documents to actualize all the technology interventions the ministry would provide to upgrade and develop one’s product.
