Tawi-Tawi, BARMM – – – To discuss plans, strategies, and strengthening disaster risk reduction management in the province, the Ministry of Science and Technology – Advanced Science and Technology Division (MOST-ASTD) coordinated a meeting with DRRM officers.

On June 18, 2022, Engr. Moammer Tabara, MOST Research and Development Head, discussed the status of Early Warning Devices and other DRMM activities.

Minister Aida Silongan highlighted the commitment to support and strengthen partnerships to implement DRRM projects benefitting the community.

“Palakasin natin ang ating partnerships, magtulungan tayong stakeholders na maimplement ang ating inisyatibo na maprevent at mamitigate ang disaster risk dito sa Tawi-Tawi through strengthening collaboration efforts.” Minister said.

Furthermore, eight (8) DRRM officers/focal/representatives also discussed issues and concerns. They also seek assistance from MOST to address all these concerns.

Engr. Tabara said that problems would be given alternative technology interventions to address them and hasten the implementation of projects in the province.

Furthermore, DRMM Officers are also committed to supporting MOST’s future undertakings to prevent and mitigate disaster risks in the province.
