Bangsamoro, Philippines — To prepare the community and reduce disaster risks, the Ministry of Science and Technology joined the 1st quarter nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill on March 9, 2023, performing the “duck, cover, and hold” via Zoom and Facebook Live online platform.

MOST-BARMM Regional and Provincial employees participated in the earthquake drill in their respective offices.

The activity aimed to develop preparedness for appropriate responses during an emergency.

The NSED is a quarterly exercise undertaken to enhance the earthquake preparedness of local government units, line agencies, and other government instrumentalities and educate the general public about earthquake and preparedness measures should an earthquake occur.

The observance of the quarterly NSED is in accordance with Republic Act No. 10121 or the “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction Management Act of 2010”.
