Isabela City, Basilan — The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Science and Technology administered the oath-taking ceremony for sixty-two qualifiers of its scholarship programs on September 26, 2023, at Claret College of Isabela, in this city.
Twenty-eight (28) grantees for the Bangsamoro Assistance for Science Education (BASE) – fourth batch and thirty-four (34) for the BASE-Merit – second batch in Basilan province took their oath and will receive cash grants throughout their educational journey.
Rocaya Edres, LPT, Chief Science Research Specialist, administered the oath-taking, accompanied by Alimudin Kandang, Supervising SRS, and MOST Basilan Provincial Director Arfie Edris.
Chief Edres congratulated the qualifiers on their achievement as official scholars of the ministry. She encouraged them to pursue high grades in their academic journey and adhere to the scholarship program’s terms and conditions.
“We are delighted with your achievement as official scholars of the BASE and BASE-Merit Scholarship Programs. I highly encourage you to strive for high grades, pursue your goals, and comply with the terms and conditions of these scholarship programs to enjoy their benefits. Congratulations!” Edres emphasized.
Meanwhile, Jamaica S. Masihul and Franzeine Pearl L. Tacorda expressed their appreciation to MOST for the scholarship opportunities they have received.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa MOST at sa Bangsamoro Government dahil sa scholarship programs na ito na talagang malaki ang maitutulong nito sa aming educational journey as we pursue science and technology courses,” Masihul said.
[We are thankful to MOST and the Bangsamoro Government for these scholarship programs, which will greatly help us in our educational journey as we pursue science and technology courses.]Mr. Kandang also motivated the grantees to study diligently and smartly as they embark on a journey that will shape them into the future scientists of the Bangsamoro region.
“We are confident that your knowledge and skills will significantly contribute to the economic growth of our region, as you are our future scientists,” Kandang said.
BASE grantees will receive monthly cash assistance amounting to P8,000.00, and BASE-Merit grantees will receive P20,000.00.
