Maguindanao, BARMM — The Ministry of Science and Technology evaluated eight (8) cooperatives in this province on March 21-23, 2023.

The Regional Technical Evaluation Committee (RTEC) assessed the cooperatives on what S & T interventions are appropriate for their organization and determined their technology needs. It was also to assist with what specific programs might be supported under Science and Technology Services.

The cooperatives evaluated were Bagoenged Proper Agriculture Cooperative with Powdered Coffee Products, Lemba Nu Bangsamoro Marketing Cooperative with Calamansi Juice Products, Hashems Furniture, Norol Lana Agri Business Marketing Cooperative with Coconut Oil Products, BPB Coconut Milling (Assorted Palapa), Bangsamoro Operation Agriculture Cooperative (Chicken Patty & Chicken Balls), Handicraft Makers & Food Processing (Handicrafts), and Masa Farmers Mpc, Inc (Banana Chips).

RTEC validated the equipment used by each cooperative and recommended processing equipment suitable for their products, evaluating the cooperative’s system and operation, including their process, marketing strategy, accessibility, electricity, and water supply.

Based on the evaluation, these coops will benefit from MOST’s Technology Transfer and Commercialization Program (TTCP) or Bangsamoro Empowerment through Science and Technology (BEST) programs.

RTEC members present in the evaluation were Nasrodin U. Buisan, TMOS Director II, Ramla B. Lantong, Chief Administrative Officer, Monawara Abdulbadie, Chief Science Research Specialist, and Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) personnel.
