Cotabato City – As part of the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) celebration in the Bangsamoro region, the Ministry of Science and Technology will be conducting a Science and Technology Quiz Bee on November 25, 2021, at Notre Dame Village National High School.
The activity aims to equip senior high school students with knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through a quiz bee competition.
The identified participating senior high schools in Cotabato City and Maguindanao are: Coland System Technology Inc., Canizares National High School, Shariff Kabunsuan College Inc., Cotabato City National High School- Rojas, Cotabato State University- Laboratory High School, Dr. P Ocampo College Inc., Notre Dame of Cotabato, Cotabato City National High School- Main, Notre Dame University – SHS, St. Benedict College of Cotabato, Inc., Notre Dame-RVM College of Cotabato, Notre Dame Village National High School, AMA Computer College, Cotabato City Institute, Gani L. Abpi College, Inc., Sultan Kudarat National High School, Sultan Kudarat Islamic Academy, Datu Paglas National High School, Armm Regional Science High School, Mamasapano National High School, MSU-Maguindanao Senior High School, Maguindanao National High School, and St. Francis Academy.
The S & T Quiz Bee 2021 will be a team competition and open for SHS-STEM students of the public and private schools. The team shall consist of two (2) members, one from each grade level (Grades 11 — 12 respectively) of each participating school. The questions for the entire contest will cover the fields of Sciences, namely; (1) Physics, (2) Chemistry, (3) Biology, and (4) Earth Sciences. It may be conceptual or computational type-questions.
MOST’s Science Education, Scholarships, Grants, and Awards (SESGA) initiates the annual skills challenge to reorient students of the STEM concepts through a form of competition.
The said activity is before celebrating the BARMM’s 1st Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) on December 1-3, 2021, at Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, Bangsamoro Government Center Cotabato City.
