LANAO DEL SUR – Twenty-two Bangsamoro Assistance for Science Education (BASE) grantees took an oath last January 19, 2021, at the Office of MP Shiek Said, Marawi City. Deputy Minister Shiek Said, Provincial Director Engr. Alinader Saranggani, MOST employees, and parent’s of grantees attend the said activity.
Deputy Minister Said presided-over the oath-taking of twenty-two grantees. He said that the ministry’s endeavor for students would help them achieve their study goals. They should strive towards their education for future betterment.
The twenty-two (22) MOST BASE grantees from Lanao del Sur also received cash assistance amounting to PHP 40,000.00, covering the five (5) months of cash assistance for the school year 2020 (August to December).
The MOST Bangsamoro Assistance for Science Education (BASE) Program is a scholarship program offered by the Ministry of Science and Technology – BARMM under the Science Education, Grants and Scholarship Section. This scholarship is offered to incoming first-year college students who intend to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) courses. To avail of the BASE program, applicants should pass the BASE program examination and pursue a Bachelor of Science degree program in any state university or colleges’ priority fields in any private higher education institution recognized by the Commission on Higher Education. Eligible awardees will receive monthly cash assistance amounting to Php 8,000.00.
