COTABATO CITY — Thirty (30) employees of the Bangsamoro – Ministry of Science and Technology went through Supervisory Development Course (SDC) Track II on July 25-29, 2022, at EM Manor Convention Center, Cotabato City.

The five-day activity aims to train supervisors on managing people in the organization with the right attitude, good relationships, leadership, work productivity, and inclination to moral governance instilled by the Bangsamoro Government. It also aims to improve work performance and basic ethical standards for government employees.

Civil Service Commission – BARMM facilitated the training and imparted their knowledge on excellent and effective communication, the art of listening, leadership, exceptional performance, coaching, counseling, mentoring, employees’ empowerment, and many more.

The said topics were discussed by Atty. Yasmin Abdulkarim, Mr. Mudjahideen Lauban, Ms. Rhodora Caliso, Mr. Zhulfikar Rauf Candao, and Mr. Ian Philip Zurita, respectively.

Furthermore, the said activity was interactive and full of participation. Employees created their team names for different activities and assignments during the training.

Grouped into four teams – Team Yanut, Team Ato Ka Bangsamoro (AKB), Team Himagsikan, and Team FUNtastic4, participants generated strong camaraderie and enthusiasm. Each group presented and discussed the assigned task and activity the resource persons gave. They have unleashed their knowledge and ideas to share insights about how they perform as supervisors and enhance their work effectiveness.

In the closing activity, Minister Aida Silongan encouraged the employees to apply what they have learned during the five-day training course and ensure that each division and section of the ministry must achieve its targets and goals with the learning points from SDC.

The Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to conduct Supervisory Development Course Tracks 1-3 for its employees by batch. It is to ensure people in the organization adhere to the proper ways how an employee performs, improve management skills, develop leadership, and become well-rounded supervisors.

The SDC scope is a series of three (3) tracks. All those who have completed SDC 1 and 2 are encouraged to attend the SDC Track 3 course.
