Zamboanga City – THE Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has conducted the Certification Program Training for Board of Election Inspectors for the selected DOST-ARMM personnel. The training was held last February 21, 2019, at Astoria Hotel. DOST-ARMM selected personnel was trained on the overview of the voting system, functions of Voting and Counting Machine and how to operate it for purposes of the coming Electoral Exercise.

The trainees had participated in the mock election to check their readiness to be “IT-certifiers”. These are the following DOST-ARMM personnel who were trained last Thursday, Maksurin L. Rizal, Ayesha Rema K. Amin, Ibnotalib J. Nasirin, Abdulmasa K. Pangilan, Marilyn C. Manibpal, Alice D. Gamas, Noor-Leila H. Wahab, Payongan A. Pili, Narcisa M. Canda, Rasmia A. Macabuat, Sukarno Y. Dani and Saidaale M. Bagonte.

In March, all DOST certifiers nationwide will administer written and practical examinations on Voting and Counting Machine operation to approximately 160,000 teachers the day after their BEI training.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will begin certifying teachers who will compose the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) for the May 13, 2019, mid-term national and local elections. The schedule of BEI certification activities for ARMM is expected to commence on March 4, 2019.
